I'd like to have you do two thing in this paper
- Analyze the character traits which Twain seems to think are plentiful in the "gilded age". Which characters represent them most typically by your analysis?
- Suppose Twain were to suddenly reappear on this earth and write a sequel to the book. Remembering his subtitle was "a tale of today", what modifications, if any would he have to make concerning the character types he would include. If you wish, feel free to "name names" but there's no requirement that you do it.
In other words, in your opinion, is our age also a "gilded age"? Why or why not?
