For Thursday, November 24

No class..  Have a delightful Thanksgiving Break.  This little prayer is part of a text I use when I teach New England, and has absolutely nothing to do with this course.  But I thought I’d share it with you anyhow.

On Tuesday I'm going to show section of a documentary on 1900, one of the excellent productions sponsored by PBS.  The transcript for the parts I'm planning on showing are found HERE, and HERE, just in case you might not be here on Tuesday.  Read the transcripts.  I will post the materials for the week after thanksgiven shortly and send out an e-mail announcing when they are posted.  In the meantime, there's a novel and How the Other Half Lives to keep you busy.
